So many skeptics think all psychic mediums are con artists eager to bilk money from the vulnerable and gullible. In my experience, this is not true. Sure, some are unscrupulous frauds, but most are not. Most are gifted in varying degrees, although I’ve yet to meet one with a perfect batting average. Why? First, they’re human; illness, mood and other factors affect their abilities. Second, there may be information that our guides don’t want us to know in that it might impede our spiritual progress. Third, we, the sitters, are human. Some of us are less receptive and more difficult to “read” than others. Fourth, that pesky monkey wrench known as “free will” can lead us on all sorts of detours. And not just our free will, the choices of countless other souls can affect our charted course, changing the predicted future. I’m sure there are other factors such as the quality of our questions, whether they’re misunderstood, etc. But if you still feel all psychics are full of bull, watch this YouTube video and get back to me. (grin)

From my experience, most psychics are legit but of differing abilities. I did have a bad experience many years ago with one of those “gypsy psychics” that ask for a money to cast spells to bring back a boyfriend or girlfriend. Total scam. I got my money back as I threatened to report her to the Stockton, CA police!

Just steer away from anyone trying to remove a “curse” or something like that from you, or asks for a crazy amount of money. Go with referrals and trust your gut.

I was reading a web forum over lunch the other day. Reading the postings of a typical skeptic, who often is a staunch materialist; They were warning people of fraudulent mediums. Stating all their experiences where fraudulent,- during their many readings where the medium or so called psychic got it wrong.

First of all, if people are such skeptics; Why are they going to readings?

I was quite taken aback. Firstly people need to realize that there is a difference between a psychic reading, and intuitive reading and a mediumistic reading.

If the medium/psychic was talking to spirits; you need to be cognizant of that contact with Spirits depends not only on the Spiritual level of the Medium, but the Spiritual level of said Spirit.

The law of Vibrations holds sway on communication quality. The afterlife is made up of an unknowable amount of dimensional levels. Human Spirits are still people. They do not magically change when they die. If they died a bad person, they are not the greatest spirit. Some psychics and mediums are the same, and thus tend to only contact spirits of a shall we say.. lower level. Spirits from these levels will lie and make stuff up to make us happy. It is only by keeping our vibrations up and working with higher level Spirits and our Spirit teams for the greater good that we get appropriate communication.

Even then some times the answer is silence, or “we can’t tell you” or “no”. Because, ‘you’ knowing would hamper what you have to learn; and sometimes it is improper or not your place to know; or they are forbidden to reveal such things; or, that they don’t have a close enough affinity with someone. Some times the answer is ask again later-for various reasons. Many many times they just don’t know. They are just people, not God, not an celestial being, not an assended master, and do not know everything. It all depends on their own level of spirituality or vibration. Often times they will only know the answers about someone if they talk to that persons guides/angles/relatives–so they wont have an answer for your other than an educated guess.

If you are talking to a higher level Spirit; ‘if you ask’ –They will ALWAYS tell you if they don’t know something or why they are being vague or can’t tell you. Also, just because you don’t understand the answer doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Many times it’s the journey of discovering the meaning behind the message that is the lesson.

Just some food for thought that was stuck in my throat. But then, what do I know. Everyone is entitled to their belief.

Wow, Jason, that is the best explanation of this conundrum I’ve ever seen! Thankfully, although Erik is not an “ascended master,” he will try to seek out the information we want from those higher than he. The important message is that when we cross over, we don’t immediately become omniscient, omnipotent beings. We continue to evolve in every dimension, but those leaps aren’t quantum just because we cross a dimensional border.

So very true! There have been times i’ve been asked to get with someones guides on something, and been told flat out the timing isn’t right to say. Other times, I’ve asked Erik something on behalf of another and told no because the question was not being asked by the correct party, or that it was part of a lesson…so giving information was not appropriate. Great explanation. Jason! :-)

Jason, Nicely stated, and right on the mark. It really is about the vibratory levels of the medium or psychic. As you stated many things are not for us to know in a particular time frame. I don’t always get answers from my spiritual teacher. He will often have me do some research and then tell me if i’m right or missed the lesson. Spiritual guides are not fortune tellers. My teacher has often told me that.

And when you read Cannon’s books, she’ll write chapters by subject, like “Guides” or “Schools”, and she’ll usually provide transcripts from more than one subject. She report forthrightly that some of them say our language limits their ability to explain some things in a way we can grasp. Some of them come right out and say they don’t know at their “level”, and sometimes it just would simply hamper our growth so it will not be allowed. It all makes sense to me. How can we truly test ourselves if we know outcomes in advance? We are, after all, here either to grow or help someone else grow or both.

Hello all! Elisa I have been reading faithfully but not commenting for awhile. Sometimes I go into a quiet/observation mode…BUT I have to share with the CHANNELING ERIK family that I had a channeling session with Jamie Butler today and WOW it blew my flip flops off(still great weather here in FLA). I received very detailed information from my deceased loved ones that NO ONE would have known. Jamie made me feel very comfortable, has an easy way of speaking and was very articulate. I will definitely schedule with her again. It was also a fascinating experience leaving me wanting more. I have read all of the recent posts with suggestions on how to open up to spirit. Guess I need to study them because my Grandmother said I was not very good at meditating…and she is sooooo right. She said I listen to spirit better when I am driving. I drive a lot as I am a realtor. So if any of you are in Florida watch out for the realtor who has one eye on the road and her Minds Eye somewhere else! :)

I love Jamie! I think Erik has a little crush on her, too!

@ Jason & Robert: So I guess asking guides and others for lottery numbers is most likey out of bounds, right? :)

      Hey, it couldn’t hurt!

I feel very sorry for you people. I wish humans could truly grasp reality. We exist in a universe so immense we can’t really appreciate, living on a rocky planet in a vacuum orbiting one star out of trillions upon trillions. No gods, spirits or ghosts… When we pass, that’s it, our lights are out. You don’t exist anymore, your body decomposes and the nutrients help other organic life forms develop. I can go on and on…

No one person can read your mind. Psychics prey on vulnerable, desperate individuals. A psychic “reading” can can attributed to wild guesses, self fulling prophecies, rapidly altered prophecies and unverifiable statements.
Let me see you publish this….

Just a tip: NEVER and I mean NEVER!!!!!! use a TV show as evidence because there are so many ways that it could be fake, just remember that a TV show is not evidence okay.

there is no such thing as a spirit guide, this idea is taken from north american folklore

    • http://www.channelingerik.com Elisa Medhus, MD

It’s all semantics. We have guides who are discarnate (in spirit) that help us while we’re here in the physical. Thank god.

Well, I’m certainly no expert in NDE’s. Blog member Nancy A. might be able to help us. But I do know that all psychics have filters, some more than others. These filters are based on their beliefs and past experiences. Also, NDErs have very different experiences, again, colored by their beliefs and level of awareness. Finally, even everyone’s afterlife is unique, all based on the belief structure and level of awareness they created for themselves during life.

these communications people get are coming from the portal area which is a tunnel for example that leads to an allocation centre at this side of the afterlife, souls are trapped here and are left there to be reincarnated they show their spirits to people on earth as a ghost in solid form or in a transparent state. they can imitate loved ones or manifest into spirits, that frighten those that travel through the portal , they are not in the true afterlife. they show some nders in the tunnel visions of hell which really doesnt exist. god does not punish us there is no hell or satan if we do wrong we get reincarnated over and over again till we get it right to cross the barrier. some of these trapped souls that take on the appearance of loved ones and friends are very intelligent beings and know everything as they are in spirit form. there is no reason for loved ones to try and contact the earth realm because when we die and cross over all of our friends and relations are there with us at the same time, there is no such thing as time in the afterlife , even though people are left on earth they cross over when someone passes as time has already passed in the afterlife. its hard to comprehend but its true , if you died and crossed the barrier everyone will be with you that is the reason for no contact to be made. neal donald walsh in his conversations with god books explains this also in his explanation of the afterlife. when we cross over we become solid again in a new body exactly like on earth, there are people animals trees flowers you name it its there and its all real not imaginary. my argument is with mediums claiming to talk to those beyond the barrier which is no they cant communicate at all, the only communication they get is from trapped spirits in the portal area thats if indeed they are hearing these voices. i have seen people who appear and disappear but i know they dont come from heaven.

Yes, I agree with much of what you say. One part of me is back in Heaven with Erik, for instance. We’re all in Heaven, in past lives, in present lives and in future lives all at once.
