Hey guys, there have been some questions as to how to post on the new discussion forum. First, make sure you’re signed in, then go to the home page and you’ll see the new tab at the top. Second, look over the various categories to see what’s available. Some have one forum, some have more than one forum. Let’s use the example of click on, for example, the forum under the “Ask Erik” category: “Request for Facilitation from Erik.” Be sure to read the forum description first. Last, click on “New Topic” and post whatever you wish!

You can subscribe to have email notification too. One thing: it seems like when you post a new topic, it doesn’t appear until you either log out and then in again or when you close, then open your browser. I’m hoping my daughter will untangle any messes I’ve created when she recovers from her day and night on call at the hospital.

    I don’t see any topics….

Just start your own, I guess. Sorry, I’ve never been a forum-type person. Maybe I structured it all wrong as far as the categories and individual forums go. Any suggestions, people?

Great idea! Will give it a go! :)

I’m confused. I couldn’t get into “Request for Facilitation from Erik.”

Did you click on New Topic? Do that and put the your name in the subject line and the information in the field under that. I’ll do a test on it. We might need to wait for the Almighty Kristina to fix it up. Have you seen her website, Pretty Shiny Sparkly? It’s amazing. She’s very good with websites, so she’ll be able to pull me out of the hole I dug for myself.

I did a test and it seems to work. But the new topic won’t appear until you log out, then log in or close, then open the browser. Weird. Also, you can subscribe to email notifications for the topic, but not the entire forum. Does anyone know anything about forums and their structure?

    Help!

  • danielle n.

It’s making me a little buggy cause I don’t know if people are seeing something other than what I posted here. So, I decided to take a break from it and read a book.

I was getting the same results as Danielle. Logged out and back in then clicked on new topics since your last visit. I can actually see Pray for Jacqueline and Test but can’t access either. I’m told I don’t have permission.

It’s a wonderful idea, Elisa. It will just take a little while to get the bugs out. I wouldn’t have been able to do this. Kudos!

Yeah, I’ve been working on it until it’s getting frustrating. My husband gets the same thing your getting. Only the admin gets the whole list of categories and posts!!

  • lynetteb2

I left a facilitation request as a reply to the “Test” message. I saw it after I submitted, so I hope you can too.
