Channeling Erik

Hey all,

My second Huffpo article was just published. I’m hoping you’ll all read it, “become a fan,” share it with all your Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace friends, and make as many comments as you want. If we can broaden the audience, we can help enlighten and provide comfort to more. As I mentioned before, the plan is to help reach as many people as possible through avenues like radio, TV, film, and books so that we can launch our national mission to provide free services to those in distress: the bereaved, the ill, the dying, the fearful and those who have forgotten their spiritual destiny. Those services might include channeling, past life regression, Reiki, RET and education about spirituality and the universe, as well as the quantum physics behind it all. I’m taking suggestions for the name of this non-profit foundation. What about Erik’s Angels? Still a work in progress.

The link for the article is: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/elisa-medhus-md/a-skeptics-journey-throug_b_692417.html

Remember: share, share, share the love!

I’m so impressed Elisa. You express yourself beautifully. I love all the information you give and site in the article. Very well done.

    Rah! Rah!

    Sherry :)

Woke up from a nap just now and while I was lying there Band Of Healers popped into my mind.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

      On the list!!!

  • Danielle Notaro

AND, that name popped into my mind BEFORE I even read this.

I also played around with trying to incorporate other names. EBOH (Erik’s Band of Healer’s sounds too much like ebola the virus.)

Then thought of somehow incorporating his full name and maybe that’s why his name came so strongly to me the other night??? ErikRuneMedhus-if we add Angels to that we would become ERMA’s -

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Are you sure you’re not an intuitive, Danielle? This seems to happen to you all the time: things popping into you mind.

  • Danielle Notaro

Oh.. I am for sure intuitive
    and somewhat psychic
Girl, I could tell you stories.

Hey, what happened to the post with you saying you were pissy this week. Of course I want to know why you were pissy.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Well, I guess I was just feeling lonely for Erik. Kids back in school, house quiet. Drank lots of wine which makes me even more sad. It’s a step back for every two forward. But that’s all about me and I don’t want it to be about that. Ugh. Nighty night, little psychic.

  • Lidian

    Elisa,
I’m sure i’m not the first to tell you this, but, your ability to get your point across simply yet profoundly is just – well, out of this world, lol!!! Sharing with everyone i can. It expresses things that I feel but would have a difficult time explaining as brilliantly as you did. Thanks, Lidian

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

      Aw, shucks, Lidian.

  • Lidian

interestng that you brought having wine. That’s how i survived for the first six months after my sister passed. I finally cut it out about a month ago and i realize now that it was definitely contributing to my sadness and anxiety. I agree that being alone and quiet is hard because it brings up stuff, but I’m getting better at letting myself “be” with the sadness- and that takes the sting away a little bit!

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

I know exactly what you mean, Lidian. It’s comforting to know that someone has gone through this and now sees the other end of the tunnel. Can I follow you out into the light?

  • Ingrid

Yey yey yeyyy Elisa!! So proud of you for having the strength and courage to write again for HuffPo after the way some of the comments affected you the first time. Don’t you worry- you are yet again going to reach out and touch so many, as you did me and all of us here on your blog:) your article is perfect, so well written and to the point. Love it and love you!!

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

      Love you too, Ingrid!

  • Skoshi

Well done, Elisa! A lot more people will find your blog as a result of this article. Even if people don’t agree, these ideas will be tucked away in their hearts and can bear fruit later then the time is right for them.

Why not ask Erik what he’d like the foundation to be called? Maybe he wouldn’t want his name in the foundation name at all but on a banner under the foundation’s name on its web site? In case he has concerns about his name being misused the way Jesus and others’ names have.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

You took the words out of my mouth! I’ve been thinking about that this morning and I feel like Erik wouldn’t want his name in it. He doesn’t want to be deified as it detracts from the message and mission. He’s a very humble guy anyway and that would make him uncomfortable. The name should describe what we do without being misinterpreted as an organized religion sort of thing. LIttle bit of a challenge, but I’ll ask him.

    Hi Elisa,

The article is really, really good. You express yourself beautifully with the least amount of words…difficult to do but VERY effective. The article leaves me really feeling your struggle between beliefs and needs. I also feel that this article will reach far more people for it will allow them to understand a little better how you got to where you are today…Bravo!!

In regards to the name of the organization. I feel it is always best to convey within the name the purpose of the organization in the simplest, yet most powerful way. Anything with angels or even with Erik’s name may not convey the true purpose. People would first of all, have to know who Erik is then they would have to buy into the whole spirit thing.

I really like the one that one of the members of the blog submitted….”Healing Without Borders”. This is a really powerful name that clearly conveys the purpose–”healing”, which can take on many, many forms, and–”without borders” which signifies that it is a charitable organization or at least something that the common man could participate in. This name would not restrict us or put us in a box, and at the same time, communicate clearly what our mission is. A name like Healing Without Borders or something like it if there is a copyright infringement, I believe, would be really powerful.

And, I feel acronyms are really not as effective as a simple name is, because by themselves, they don’t tell you anything unless you know what the acronym stands for. Just some things to think about.

Again, great work on the article…loved it, loved it!! You are amazing!

By the way, did you like the song by Samantha James I posted?

    Love to all,

    Pat

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Yes, I like Healing without Borders best. I was just worried about the copyright thing. Maybe I’ll ask Erik! ANd yes, I adored the Samantha James song. So melodic, so sonorous, it speaks to the heart and soul. I thought I commented on it, but I might have had a brain fart. Those come more and more frequently. I love Samantha James. She’s one of my favs. I always wondered about the connection of music and the soul. Is there something about our harmonic frequency and certain songs, how they affect the soul?

  • Steve

Elisa, you write so clearly and beautifully. What talents DON’T you have?

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Oh, trust me, there are more things I can’t do or don’t do well.

  • Epeavey

Very beautifully written Elisa! You are a writer at heart and I know you have talked about how you would go about writing your books but in truth the book is writing itself. Each chapter could be each of your posts. If you wanted to write more about a particular post at the end of the chapter that would work or you could probably also use many people’s posts to what was written that day. I know many of the help and guidance I have received have come straight from other people’s posts as well. Very well done!!

  • Alexis

Dearest Elisa, a beautiful balance of intellect and emotion; your compassion and courage is, as always, amazing. You present your ‘case’ for our souls continued life after death with a keen fact-based perspective that should make this topic far more accessible to readers who are perhaps just venturing into this arena. Bravo! Sending you much Love & Light.Uber XOX!

  • http://avalonrisen.com Ceridwen

Elisa – I believe this article was even better than the first – the one that drew us all together in the first place! Your writing is so articulate and evocative, and this article is even deeper and more “multi-dimensional” in its expression – sure to draw many more incredible people to our little family!

    Way to go, girl! :)

    Love & hugs,
    Ceridwen /|\

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Thanks, Ceridwen. I wish it wasn’t so buried! I can’t find it unless I do a search! So basically, the only people who seem to find it are current members of our Channeling Erik family. I wish it could have reached out to others who need our help, but… I just have to figure out a way to reach a broader audience. Not easy. Guides, give me some direction!!! (pretty please)

  • Tiffany

You sure know how to capture an audience! You inspire so much curiosity that one can’t help but to read the blog. Well done my friend. Your eloquence speaks volumes to the heart and needs of many. The connection is contagious, the energy uplifting and suspense for the next post is a craving you just can’t shake! I’d say that’s worthy of being published. :)

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

      Aw, shucks! Thanks Tiffany!

  • Danielle Notaro

I wonder of it’s buried because of when you published it. On a Friday. I looked to see when your first one was published and it was on a Thursday. That could be why.

I also wondered a while back if publishing in other magazines or online journals might help.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Which online journals would you recommend?

  • Danielle Notaro

Ahh, I knew you were going to ask that. Off the top of my head, don’t know. Went to google and typed in online journals and magazines and came up with this:
    http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/magazines/

But what about all the womens mags out there. They might be open to such an article.

    or for more supportive mags:
    http://www.dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/New_Age/Magazines_and_Ezines/

This is a just a start. If I think of some more specific ones I’ll let you know.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

  • Lidian

not so much light here – i jinxed myself. Had a hard grieving weekend. Everywhere i went reminded me of things i wish i could have done with/for my sister. I realize now that when these thoughts come i get a very distinct pain in my gut. Does this happen to anyone else? I don’t know if pain is the right word, but it’s a very distinct discomfort until i can get away from the thought. Maybe the body has to go through it’s own grieving…..

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Dear Lidian, Weekends are hard, aren’t they? I feel the same ache in both my gut and heart when I think about the day I lost Erik, when I look at his photographs, when I walk past his closed bedroom door which still has the hole in the wall where the bullet landed after it passed through his head. It’s like a “sick” feeling. Not sure if that will ever go away. As awful as it sounds, sometimes I wonder if I ever want it to go away. If I don’t feel that pain anymore, will that be like losing him again?

  • Danielle Notaro

MMM, sweet people. I was watching the EMMY’s tonight. Jewel sang a beautiful song that made me think of you. Here it is if you want to hear. It’s called The Shape Of You: (A Hole In My Heart)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KezgLBLWtus

and another. It’s good medicine called: Angel Standing By

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXxFIQV0y8Q

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Beautiful songs. The second one in particular brought tears of gratitude to my eyes. Where would we be without our angels? Thanks Danielle! I hope everyone takes the time to listen.

  • mom2bzs

{{{Lidian}}}} and {{{Elisa}}} Big hugs to both of you.

    Sherry

  • lidian

Thanks for the hugs Sherry, they are so appreciated. I started back on the book Home with God: A Life that Never Ends. It was suggesting that all we need to do to find peace and end this karmic wheel of life is to not only “know” but to “feel” that we are one with God. That – to take a quote from Course of Miracles – we are ideas in the mind of God that are seeking fulfillment. I found that comforting as i’m feeling all kinds of stuff i don’t want to feel but maybe there is purpose in it after all.

  • Skoshi

Lidian, you might find this particularly interesting. I had a session with my Reiki Master Sunday. The guides said this next 3 weeks is a time of great upheavel. There will be huge shifts everywhere. It is causing fear in people who are “sensitives” (not emotionally sensitive…you know what I mean?). Was told we can help shift energy and provide some relief by working Ho’oponopono (pronounced ho-oh-pono-pono). Vitale’s book “zerolimits” explains it. Whenever we’re stressed, searching, rehashing painful history in our minds, it’s an indication that we aren’t fully feeling/knowing that we ARE Universal Energy; we are One. It’s helpful to take a few good belly breaths and say, “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.” I find it very calming. It works on subtle energies and those not consciously understood by humans. It helps give us relief so we won’t have to experience this time period in as bad a way.

  • Danielle Notaro

I got subtle chills saying it this time, Skoshi. No joke.

  • Lidian

Hi Skoshi, yes i think i know what you mean. First, i believe you mentioned sending all of us here some reiki help with karmic cleansing I want to thank you for your generousity and i’m going to check out the book. Thank you for your
    thoughtfulness. Lidian

  • Lidian

    Hey Skoshi,
just wanted to share with you – as I’m looking at the Vitale website I see he’s also written “Life’s Missing Instruction Manual” – have often wondered why we weren’t born with one!
That could come in handy. Of course, I suppose in the last analysis we were born with one, but in this world it’s no treat finding our way to it!!
