Channeling Erik

This has nothing to do with channeling or with Erik, but I thought it was too cool a story not to share. Night before last, I was babysitting my two year-old grandbaby, Arleen. She usually sleeps in a toddler bed upstairs, but that night, I wanted to snuggle with her, so she sleep with me. She was very excited to find out that we planned on taking her to the “Rent-a-Ranch” in the morning. This is a wonderful place where we board our three Tennessee Walking Horses: Jazz, Doc Holiday, and General Lee. We drag the fifth wheel camper with us and trail ride all over what amounts to around 1100 acres of woods, rolling hills, and streams, everything teaming with wildlife–and all for only the cost of boarding the horses.

At around 3:00 in the morning, Arley awakens, sits up abruptly, and goes through the usual list of names:

“We go see Jazz?”

‘Yes, we’re going to see Jazz.’

“We go see General?”

‘Yes, we’re going to see General.’

“We go see Doc?”

‘Yes, we’re going to see Doc.’

“We go see Cowboy?” (This is the ranch dog, a lovely old Blue Heeler who always is the first to greet us.)

‘Yes, we’re going to see Cowboy.’

“We go see the cows?”

‘Yes, we’re going to see the cows.’

“We go see the pig?”

‘What? No, there is no pig, just horses, dogs, guinea fowl, and a couple of barn cats.’

“Yes, we go see the pig.”

‘No, Sweetie, there is no pig.’

“Yes,” she insists. “We go see the pig.”

‘Okay, we’ll see the pig. Now, lie back down and go to sleep.’

So the next morning, we drive out to the ranch and guess who was tagging along with Cowboy to greet us? Yep, a little pot-bellied pig named Rooty (for a very good reason.) I was stunned. We’ve never seen a pig there before yet Arleen had foreseen the encounter! Is she psychic? Maybe most kids are, but we either ignore them or they can’t really articulate it before the world distorts and taints their belief system. I guess I should ask Erik in one of the upcoming sessions.

      I second that!

      Cuteness skips generations, I guess!

  • Tiffany

Little ones are still so close to the veil that I know they see more than we will ever understand or comprehend. Arleen is quite adorable!

I wish we didn’t lost that, don’t you?

  • Shannon

    Second that, Tiffany!

Here’s one for you Elisa – When my younger cousin (by 8 years), Jamie, was about 2 1/2 or 3 he picked up an “imaginary friend” he called “Sistie”. I asked him to describe her one day and he went on to tell me about her dark brown hair (he’s blond), brown eyes (his are blue) and her happy smile. We always included “Sistie” when we played until his mom became pregnant about 4 years later. During the pregnancy Jamie quit talking about “Sistie” altogether. My cousin, Kylie, perfectly matches Jamie’s description of “Sistie”. When Jamie first brought up “Sistie” I initially thought he just wanted a little sister to play with. I soon realized that his play time with her was so real to him that I began to wonder if he was interacting with a future sibling or child spirit (yep, I was a really weird pre-teen). The cool thing about it was that my aunt and uncle never really discouraged Jamie’s interaction with his “imaginary” friend. I honestly think this pre-birth relationship helped to foster the great relationships that Jamie has with both of his little sisters, but Kylie in particular as she turned out to be a special-needs child who wasn’t expected (by doctors) to see puberty, let alone adulthood (she’s almost 30!).

Yeah, my eldest daughters, Kristina and Michelle also had imaginary friends. They hung out with us at the dinner table–basically were part of the family.

I think the little ones are very psychic. Have you ever asked her if she remembers when she was “big”? Sometimes kids that age will remember past lives. By around age 5, the memories seem to fade.

  • Skoshi

Maybe Uncle Erik told her about the pig?

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

I think I will ask that! Great idea?

  • Skoshi

Maybe ask Arleen if Uncle Erik told her about the pig?

  • Denise

This is the best age to watch……so cute.

  • Sharon Sims

Sweet little girl! Her innocence lets her mind be open to “everything” around her. Curious to see if she retains this gift as she gets older.

  • Dina

    Wow. Incredible story, Elisa.
I think little kids are very gifted. My cousin at age 2 could correctly guess the number/suit of any card when it was face-down in front of him. But then his dad and uncle got so excited that it freaked the poor kid out, and he never did it again.
My dad’s constantly telling stories of how I astrally traveled and “taught him to heal” when I was 3. I remember absolutely none of this.

Dina, that’s amazing! I think little kids go out of body a lot. Maybe that’s when they tap into the Source or their HIgher Self more. So much to know.

  • KateC

Wow. My son, 4, recently went through surgery. The other day he was talking about when he was six. I said, honey, you’ve never been six…you will be in a year and a half. He said, No, before, when I was six.

I couldn’t get anything more out of him…but I truly wonder.

  • Danielle Notaro

I actually knew someone named Sistie!

My niece had a friend named Sam for a long time. Sam wasn’t a child. Sam was a man. My niece was an only child. Now, did Sam come out of her desire for a sibling or her imagination or was he a guide? I think it’s pretty hard to be so sure.

My friends also had a daughter, a beautiful feminine girl who one day said that she was a boy first or that she remembered being a boy. She was about 2 or 3 when she told me that.

I knew she was a special soul! Love you little Arley! :-)

  • Alexis

Out of the mouth of babes! She is such a darling little love muffin!

That’s interesting, Steve…I’ve read long ago (I’m not sure if it was from Seth or some Theosophical source) that the soul kind of goes in and out of the body till the child reaches 7 years old – then it is “locked in”. They seemed to say that the soul takes that 7 years to decide if they are in the right “environment” or not for their life’s lessons – which they say might be why many children die mysteriously before age 7…

Has anyone else heard this particular version of things? I hope I’m remembering it correctly…

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

I heard the same thing! That’s why infants sleep a lot at first, because they’re out of body, going back and forth to the spiritual realm, hanging around the body, etc.

  • Skoshi

These experiences remind me of one case Dr. Ian Stevenson of UVA investigated. A little boy was on a car trip with his parents, and before they could take a sharp curve in the road, the boy announced that they were coming to the house he used to live in, and he described it. Sure enough, it appeared just as he said. He eventually said so much about the house and having lived there and a previous life that his parents came to believe that he was reincarned and genuinely having memories.

Wish I could live long enough to see if Arleen, not being put down for the things she says, retains her ability to connect with the unfettered.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

No matter which realm you’re in, Skoshi, you’ll see what happens with her. And so will I.

  • Danielle Notaro

I heard it was 3 years old when they decide to stay or not.
