Channeling Erik

My memory baseline has always been pretty bad, but lately, it really sucks. It’s like those last two brain cells are gasping for air. Let’s see if Erik can help us.

Me: Are memory problems related to being out of body and sort of dissociating sometimes. (Pause) Like not being present sometimes?

Erik: Or they’re related because you’re a drunkard.

Me: Oh yeah. I can imagine.

Erik: Or a drug addict. Or you have dementia.

Me: Oh yeah. But can it sometimes be because of dissociation? Because what I’m saying is—

Erik: Yes.

I can hear Jamie laughing.

Me: —I am out of body so much that I do not remember stuff that people tell me. It’s like they’ll be talking to me, and I think I’m listening but I’m somewhere else. I’m wondering if that’s part of some people’s memory problem including my own.

Erik: Yes.

Me: Okay. What percent of the time am I out of body? I’ve been trying the grounding exercises. I forgot to do them.

Jamie and I belly laugh.

Me: That’s ironic. But, um, yeah, so what percent of the time am I “gone”?

Erik: I’m going to say 25% of the time. Even though that’s a low number, that’s a fourth, and you gotta remember, most of the time you’re asleep.

Jamie: Is that including sleep, Erik, or is that conscious—

Erik: That’s conscious awake time. So, that’s a huge chunk.

Me: Yeah, I know! Dang! Okay. I’ll try to work on that. I’ll just try to remember to do those grounding exercises. I was transcribing a previous session where you mentioned how to do those, so I put them on my iCal as a recurring event!

Erik: Yeah, you need to definitely write it down so when you wake up you see it, and you need to do it at least 21 days before you see it start to make it a real habit.

Me: I know. I’m going to do it.

Erik: And you know, Mom, a lot of kids and adults who are diagnosed with ADHD are just a little out of body, too. Sometimes all it takes is some grounding exercises for them.

Me: Wow. That might give Big Pharma a run for their money.

Erik: Fuck yeah. So you hear that, CE family? If your kid has a diagnosis of ADHD, try those daily grounding exercises and see if they help. Teach them ways to get back in their bodies when they’re in school like when they’re in the classroom listening to a boring ass lecture. Keeping them in their bodies may be all they need.

I’m reposting part of the entry where Erik describes how to ground yourself. It really works. I did it every day until I felt I matched the Earth’s vibration, and now I do it once a week.

Erik: If you can do that trick at least every other day, at least three times a week, then you’re going to be making that shift—

Jamie: In air quotes might I note.

Erik: —very easily. But there’s nothing else I can explain to get you on a path that’s gonna make it light for you. Ground. Ground yourself to the thing that’s changing.

Me: I don’t do that very well, because I’ve been through so much tragedy and suffering from childhood on that I’ve learned to cope by disassociating from my physical body, so how can I do that? What’s a good exercise we can share with the blog members?

Erik: Yeah, you can do the thing with the feets—

Jamie: He’s so cute! “Yeah, you can do the thing with the feets.”

(Erik is talking about an exercise where you simply concentrate on where your feet are, feeling the surface they’re on and send energy from the soles of your feet to the core of the Earth. You can also imagine roots sprouting from your soles and growing all the way to the Earth’s core.)

Erik: Send the energy to the Earth. Just imagine after you’re sending, which is connecting, pulling your energy through your body to the core of the Earth—that’s the connecting part. It’s also the healing part, because you’re giving the Earth energy—then allow the moment to receive, and allow the Earth to send energy to you, to the bottom of your feet, up to your heart, and throughout your body. Then tell your body, you know, “Identify this vibration. Match it. Match it. Match this vibration.” Even though it’s just this stupid verbiage you’re running through your head, your brain will catch on and send signals, and at least your physical body will start matching that vibrational level and start increasing—

Erik: —your chances of enlightenment!

Jamie burst out laughing, because he sounds like either a game show host or someone selling us something on an infomercial.

Me: Okay, I’m going to have to put this exercise as a recurring event on my iCal app, or it’ll never get done, and the Earth will hate me.

Jamie: And set off a timer?

Me: Yeah, I’ll do that. An obnoxious alarm.

NOTE: I’ve been doing this exercise for a few months now and, as I’ve said in an earlier post, I have had many more psychic experiences. I guess matching Mother Earth’s energy has all sorts of perks: grounding us emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, and psychically. It will pull you one step closer to being connected to the whole.

    Hi Elisa!
I remember the grounding exercises from the “erik’s wkd” and also the post with the image of the “root” coming down from “our bottom” !! ha! :P
but if we also want to connect to our higher-self? can we apply both ideas in the exercise? like “imagine our feet grounding and our mental center lightening/connecting up”?

Hugs to u and tchau for now,
    Clau

Hmm, so you say that grounding yourself to Earth can provide more psychic experiences? I’d like to hear more about these exercises, since my guides told me I don’t have the “spiritual umbilical cord” that connects me to Earth. GREAT post!

“21 days”…I always read that number in order for new habits or hypnosis or self-hypnosis to start working…I’ve been doing self-hypnosis for 5 days now, on a loop for like at least 15 hours a day, and since December 21, 2012 I thought I would be seeing results instantly, especially if I play them for many hours…but I guess I can’t cheat, I have to listen to them every day for at least 21 days for them to take effect…oh well, that’s fine…I can do 21 days!

      Hi Chris,
i think is based an psychology tests. When I do the Deepak meditation challenge is also 21 days because is based on studies that after 21 days is easier to keep the habit going…

My kids are always telling me I don’t listen. I really do, but I just forget. It’s like you described above. I will have to give those grounding exercises a try – although, I do enjoy being somewhere else other than in my body much of the time. I find I’m off in the ether more when I’m stressed, and overwhelmed. I really just need some PEACE (and some quiet wouldn’t hurt either) – but I do feel bad when I don’t remember something my kids have told me. I have to write things down so I can remember them.

See, here’s the thing, I’m a little hesitant to stop disassociating. I love the stories I create when I’m not really in this life. I’ve used this technique to get me through some really tough times, and I admit that was wrong because I’ve lost the year 1998 — it’s a family joke now, but I don’t want to shut out that part of my life. I wonder if I’ll lose my creativity and my contact to all things spiritual if I ground myself. I know that’s what I should do, but this little voice in the back of my head is screaming “why?”
I guess I just need a little urging from you, Elise. I know you probably didn’t want to come back to reality, either. What can you say to encourage me to WANT to make grounding myself a daily habit?

Yes. Do it dammit or I’ll send Erik to haunt your ass!!!

LOL, I think he’s beat you to it!

      • Ceridwen777

Hehe, what if someone refuses to do the grounding because they WANT Erik to “haunt their ass”??? ;)

      • http://www.channelingerik.com Elisa Medhus, MD

        LMAO!!!

  • angelo555

Has anyone heard how little Dylan is doing? Today is his birthday. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

OK, it’s the cartoon at the end that sent me over the edge. I’m still laughing. Thanks, I needed that. ;oD

I love the idea that grounding will help me with my psychic abilities too as well as my memory. Thanks Erik x

  • Jen

I’m only 23, and I have horrible memory problems. I think it’s partly brain damage from the intense deep depression I went through and partly the anti-depressants I was on. Horrible stuff. :( Thanks for the grounding advice, Erik.
