Pat turned me on to this YouTube video of an interview with J. Krishnamurti. I’m ashamed to say I never heard of him, asked my sister from California if she knew him, and she said something like, “Sure, who hasn’t?” Now I know that he is one of the great Masters. So much to learn, so little time.

I stayed at the Krishnamurti Pepper Tree Retreat this past spring – a few wonderful days of quiet peaceful “me” time. That spiritual place was filled with his legacy and spirit. I highly recommend it if you are ever in California. Ojai is very special and beautiful. http://www.peppertreeretreat.com/about.html

Ahhh Krishnamurti – one of my heroes. Hey Daria, having been to Ojai I’m wondering if you live in S. CA? I’m about 2 hours south of it and have been eyeing that retreat for a while now for a good getaway!

sweet synchronicity indeed! I’m an old theosophist – which is where I found Krishnamurti in the first place -but thought not to mention it. Then I found the reference to “The Instruction” and checked out the author. He’s a member of the Theosophical Society too! So here’s a wave and a tip of the hat to any Theosophists out there!

I often wonder when I’m watching TV why there isn’t something spiritually fulfilling on it. So much junk, and no channel that specializes in this type of information and “vibe.”

Waving back to Lidian – I’m an old theosophist too! I was a member of B.O.T.A. (Builders of the Adytum) and – in Santa Cruz – a sister organization called Artisans of Light, let by Paul Foster Case’s previous secretary! Spent about 14 years in the first, and about 4 years in the second…which was a “live” group, where we acted out all the different roles in the rituals – I learned so much with them! :)

Skoshi – wait until Elisa starts the TV shows – perhaps that will be the beginning of a spirituality channel – who knows? :)

yes, I live in LA, so Ojai isn’t far. The Pepper Tree is definitely worth the visit/stay, especially if you can get into the library where he lived. It’s very special there.

Heard of Krishnamurti ages ago. What’s weird is that I was in Ojai about 8 years ago and also Ventura visiting relatives. Didn’t know there was a retreat there in Krishnamurti’s name.

    Jiddu Krishnamurti telling a joke…

“There are three monks, who had been sitting in deep meditation for many years amidst the Himalayan snow peaks, never speaking a word, in utter silence. One morning, one of the three suddenly speaks up and says, ‘What a lovely morning this is.’ And he falls silent again. Five years of silence pass, when all at once the second monk speaks up and says, ‘But we could do with some rain.’ There is silence among them for another five years, when suddenly the third monk says, ‘Why can’t you two stop chattering?”

Haaaa! Haaaa!! Guzman, that is such sweet and funny joke! It reminds me of the Dalai Lama’s sense of humor. It seems the “Masters” have such humility and humor, doesn’t it?

    Hi Ceridwen,
Funny that we should meet here, huh? My experience was what i’d call a more traditional study of blavatsky’s and other works. We didn’t get to do rituals! But i have always been interested in Gurdjieff’s approach to rituals as being a meditation to wake us up!
