Channeling Erik

I’m so grateful to Sandy for allowing me to post a recent email she wrote. I found it enlightening, hopeful and healing. Moreover, her comments and hundreds of others I’ve received are a clear indication that we are on the brink of something big…a transformation, an awakening. People seem hungry to discover all that they know on a deep soul level to be true: the nature of the afterlife, the purpose of the human experience, the survival of the soul after death, and more. Please enjoy her story, her insight, her wisdom. Thank you, Sandy.

Elisa,

First and foremost, please know how very sorry I am for the pain you have had to endure. No parent ever imagines having to attend his/her own child’s funeral. It’s completely out of the natural order of life as we imagined it. For you to boldly and lovingly share your experiences with Erik since that day when you had to deal with the unthinkable is courageous. No doubt, you have helped many people experience a healing that could not have taken place without your written and spoken accounts of the life you still get to have with your wonderful son and the experiences he has shared with you about the process of crossing over and life after death (or perhaps better said “life after this life”).

My son, Jacob, was killed in a car accident in the fall of 2006. He was 18 years old and a freshman at the University of Georgia. He was home for a weekend and was on his way back to campus when he drove into a heavy rainstorm on a rural two-lane highway. His vehicle hydroplaned into oncoming traffic. He died on the way to the hospital. Jacob began making his presence known rather quickly. He appeared to a woman only three days after the accident while she was wide awake. He came as a young boy (the age at which she knew him best) and said, “Tell my mom I’m ok and I’m learning a new dance, and I’m dancing with Jesus!” The woman who had this experience would have no way of knowing that Jacocb had just told us tor the very first time that he liked to dance. In fact, he had a video on his cell phone that he had taken at a club near campus and showed it to me multiple times that weekend. Jacob knew I loved to go out dancing with my friends when I was his age. The stories that have since followed are nothing short of incredible. That being said, I have never had any discussions with Jacob while awake as you have had with Erik. Jacob and I have talked in dreams and I’ve heard him say “Hi Mom!” when no one else was around. He has delivered several unique messages to various people in dreams and visions.. These are the things that help us to keep on breathing and taking the next step, especially in the early days, weeks and months.

I have written of our experiences at a memorial website created as part of my healing. It is www.jacobnyenhuis.memory-of.com. If you take a few mins to visit the website, you’ll see that I am a Christian who has held to my beliefs while realizing that God is much bigger than anything we can even begin to describe. I never imagined these things would happen. There are people within the Christian faith that would call my accounts lies from the devil, but I don’t see it that way. I think they have simply limited a limitless and loving God. If you can accept my foundation in faith and move into the accounts of what we and several others have experienced in connection to Jacob, I think you will nod your head in agreement as I have been while reading your accounts. There are some things that are very much alike. My husband encountered Jacob’s presence while running one morning that was similar to a “dream” your husband had. Jacob shared with him the euphoria of his current life. My husband said it was as though Jacob opened a window to Heaven because a rush of wind came. He felt like he was floating and he began laughing and twirling around (which is completely not like my husband).

About 8 weeks after Jacob died, we formed www.j9foundation.org to carry out Jacob’s dreams to one day help people in need. We believe he has been working on the other side to make some really awesome connections for us and to help bring change to the lives of several people in a big way. We are honored to be involved in this work with God and Jacob.

Of course I want to know if Jacob and Erik have connected in Heaven and what Jacob is doing. I’d also love to know about his final moments just prior to the accident and just after, but another sincere question I would ask is “Who is Jesus and what is his role in relationship to God?” How’s that for a hot potato kind of question? I know you’ve had such an overwhelming response to the HP article that you’ve had to stop taking questions, but I thought I’d throw that out there anyway.

Blessings to you from another mom on this long, hard journey,

Sandy

Many readers have shared that they struggle with how the spiritual issues that are shared on this blog and other places might conflict with the belief system of their religion. Please take comfort in knowing that there is no conflict. I have many more questions to ask Erik about this, but basically, he says there is a God. (S)he is a genderless Source Energy of which we are part and whole. Erik describes the relationship between God and individual souls as a hologram. Suppose a big picture of Erik is God. If you break it down to individual pixels or tiny subunits of some type, they are also full pictures of Erik.

Every religion I’m familiar with has stories of great Messiahs like Jesus. Perhaps they are highly evolved souls sacrificing their energy or even their lives to help the progress of other souls. In Christianity, there is plenty of evidence that Jesus believed in reincarnation. Perhaps religious leaders eradicated such references in order to better wield power over the unruly masses. I suppose they thought a belief in infinite chances might encourage some to live sloppily, without integrity. That said, there is room for spirituality, religion and science. If you remove manmade dogma from the equation, you will see that they are one and the same when you really analyze them together. One of the best explanations for the interaction of religion with spirituality can be found in one of my favorite books, Your Eternal Self, by R. Craig Hogan, PhD. Read it. It will change your life.

    Thanks for sharing Sandy.
Here’s how I square it in my mind. Many men and women of the cloth would have us believe these messages come from negative spirits, demons, or even satan himself to toy with us. But I go back to Jesus himself who said ye shall know them by their fruit. Since these messages are obviously of an uplifting, inspiring, and loving nature that only bring hope and peace, I’d say that’s pretty good fruit. Bless you and Gods speed in your healing.

Couldn’t have said it better myself! Erik (and other deceased who have communicated through mediums) says there are no evil spirits. I plan to post that part of the transcript soon. Maybe the creation of demons and Satan was a way of keeping us in our place, controlling the masses?? I’m sure we have our own metaphorical inner demons, but these do not exist in the spirit world. No Boogie Man. Yay.

Elisa – I’ve spent two days in deep thought after reading through your blog. I’m so sorry for your loss in this earthly life.

I also wanted to share that the issues discussed above, spirituality and dogma (and even the existence – or not – of evil spirits) are the very same I’ve been dwelling on today. It feels a bit like sitting in a virtual quaker meeting, hearing somebody else raise the questions one has been quietly thinking oneself.

I think it’s important that we, living here in this world, in this life, could see how each of us is a child of their culture and has only so many words and images to try to fathom and express things that are beyond our comprehension. I think that the result is bound to remain sketchy, and us people would do well to have mercy on ourselves and other people for being less than perfect. It makes me sad to see people trapped in dogmas, denying other people’s different ways of attempting to understand.

With all my heart I hope death will not be the end of our souls. Reading your blog has strenghtened that hope. I hope we can sigh with relief and let go of our academically rational fear, and live this life before death well and to the full.

Very wise advice, Petrus. I hope everyone reads this comment. I do agree that there is so much more to the universe than we can imagine in with the measly 5 senses we use to perceive our 3-D reality called the Earthly Plane. We just don’t have the language we need to analyze it. And souls in the spirit world can only shed so much light on things because of our language/comprehension limits. Maybe we’re not meant to understand it all while in the human experience. Maybe those limits ensure our lessons are deeper and more effective. But then again, I’m just someone in the peanut gallery trying to figure out at least a thimble full of it.

Hello and thank you for creating this healing website. I had two phone readings with mediums from Lily Dale within the past week. Both were unable to connect with any of my deceased family members. I was so open and ready to receive, and was quite disappointed that no one came through, although I have a brother who died more than 18 months ago, and parents who died more than 10 years ago. It wasn’t like a large John Edward event where my relatives would have had to be bolder than many others to stand out. It was just me having a reading … twice … and no communication either time. Does Erik have any insight into reasons why some don’t come through? Thanks again.

You just have been to mediums that are not very good. Few are. Kim is the best I’ve ever known, but I’m sure there are some just as good. I posted her link today about how to choose a good medium. In the same link I posted her free teleseminar on how to channel for yourself. Give it a shot. The only other reason Erik gives me for why deceased don’t come through is if they’ve reincarnated and are no longer in the afterlife, but given how time is so different there compared to here, that’s pretty unusual. Maybe you can sign up for a free session with Kim. Her website is http://www.kimoneillpsychic.com

Ah, Mediums. If anyone is in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend Jamie Butler (http://www.withloveandlight.com). I’ve been to her three times and each time I’ve been offered much guidance and wisdom from my soul group/spirit guides. My mother passed three years ago from cancer and she definitely came through for two of the readings, along with other recently deceased relatives. My coworker’s recently passed father also hijacked a session for a moment to get a message to his daughter!
Evil spirits? My only thoughts on this are that we have humans who are good, bad, and neutral. When we transition, we carry those same traits over. So yes, if you were a bad person in life you will likely be a “bad” spirit if you are still caught on the Earth plane not transitioned through the light (ie: ghosts). Just my thoughts. I really don’t believe in demons, though. If you believe they exist, they can be created via your mind, I suppose.

Do you know if she does phone sessions? I went to her website and she seems wonderful! As for evil spirits, I think they are confused and not as evolved, but my (minimal) understanding is that all discarnate spirits gain a broader perspective of who and what they really are once they transition from the earthly plane. I will see if I can find out more, though. Thanks for sharing Jamie with us!

Yes, she DOES do phone sessions. I’ve found her readings to be very uplifting and meeting her has literally changed my life. She is human like everyone else, but she can actually see and hear your guides. They will show up and stand in the room with her and take turns speaking. Some are quiet, some have more involvement with the reading. I think she charges $150 for about two hours which is quite reasonable.

Hey, Elisa! Yeah, it would be very interesting to hear more about Erik’s take on “deamons” and ghosts. I’ve watched this show called Paranormal State about a group of people who visit homes that are supposedly haunted, and they bring psychics and psychologists with them to see if there is, in fact, anything in these houses or any merit to what the home owners say. Several episodes have included possessions and exorcisms of the people living in the houses and the presence of “evil” or “demonic spirits.” I am always very skeptical of shows like this except that this show and the people who are asking for help seem very real…anyway, just a very interesting subject and would love to hear more about what Erik has to say! Hope all is well:)

Can’t wait to post more about it!! All is well. Rode horses with the family this weekend. That’s a requirement in Texas. They deport city slickers you know!

Ok just looked up some stuff on this show and apparently it’s very controversial in its validity and credibility. Still a very fascinating subject though!
