Me: How does one raise their vibrational frequency?

Erik: First, change what your eating. Eat natural foods. Meat is natural—I’m not trying ot be mean, but, um, stop the processed foods; stop the sugar.

Me: Jesus, I’m gonna starve to death.

Erik: No, seriously, Mom. Processed foods and sugars slow down the vibrations. Oh, and stop the caffeine.

Me: Okay, now I draw the line on that one. One of my simple pleasures is making myself a latte, but I can’t stand decaff.

Erik: Once you stop all that, then you need to tackle your brain!

Me: Brain? What brain?

Jamie laughs.

Erik: No, really. Like go down for a tackle, because your brain absorbs everything that it’s told.

Me: Oh, yeah!

Erik: And some of it’s just not true! You gotta treat your inner thoughts like commercials. You don’t buy everything that the commercial says, right?

Me: Ah! Yeah, that’s right.

Erik: But nobody tells us to o that.

(Long pause)

Me: anything else?

Erik: Well, once you wrestle your brain and find out what you believe in and what you don’t, then that’s when you’re gonna realize: how much does your ego have a hold of you?

Me: Oh, yeah!

Erik: Some people might buy a certain sweater, not cuz they like it but because they think they look really good in it.

Me: Oh, gosh!

Erik: A lot of people will do things, say things, and behave in certain ways just to get approval from others. That’s an ego thing.

Me: Oh yeah.

Erik: So first, I would tell them to clear the body.

Me: Um hm.

Erik: Get that habit down first before you even take on the mental struggle of what’s to come. Once you find out what your ego’s doing, then and only then can you find out how good you are at loving someone else.

Me: Ah, good—beside yourself, I guess!

Erik: Yep, that DOES have to come first. And believe it or not, the people with the most stubborn egos are the ones that have less self-love. They ego sort of prevents them from becoming aware of what they don’t like in themselves. It’s kind of a survival tool.

Me: Makes sense.

Erik: Yeah, so when you love yourself, your ego can fall away and you can give and receive love from others. And I don’t mean just other people. I mean trees, plants, animals, even the socks you’re wearing, the things you’re experiencing. That is how you feel joy, and THAT is how you raise your vibration.

Me: Hmm. I’m okay with loving my socks on day one, but after that, all bets are off!

Sadly, as I transcribe this part of the session, which took place January 18th of this year, I’m lovingly holding my coffee mug, lovingly sipping away at the highly processed latte foam atop my double shot espresso. Sigh. On the other hand, I do fully intend to hug my socks today.

This message perfectly aligns with a book I’m reading right now by Esther and Jerry Hicks (of course I can’t remember the title), but it’s about keeping your vibration rate up so you can attract good via the law of attraction (Esther channels Abraham).

      COOOLLLL!!!

  • nikki

So much to work on *sigh*.

Coffee is a staple in my diet. It is gonna take an awful lot to give that up. Our commune has to have coffee!

  • Jason

Yea, I’ve read about the caffeine thing before. All over the place. It’s more about reliance, obsession, and distraction. Substituting things or chemicals for what could be in self. I get it, I do. Often freaks people out as being too hard. I think it’s better to worry less and strive for better balance; more moderation. This goes for anything in life. So instead of pounding the double latte’s perhaps a cup of java with meditation and prayer in the sunshine or a quick spin on the bike and then a mocha. It’s not a rule book, but suggestive thoughts to better intents. On a lighter note. I’ll give up morning coffee when they pry it from my cold dead hands. ha ha ha.

  • nikki

Whew, good to know Jason. All things in moderation. I figure my addiction to exercise offsets the caffeine. I cant imagine running in the morning without that little boost :)

  • iola

So, Jason, are you saying the no coffee thing is a big negative? lmao. I have a cup every morning..and drink ice tea all day long…so I guess moderation isnt in my dna either!
I like the better balance idea better…and yes, we def have to have coffe and cabana boys at the compound! love to you all!

I agree, giving up the things that we are used to eating (preservatives, sugar, caffeine), which are prevalent everywhere you look and such a part of our lifestyle, is hard to fathom. However, if you decide to try it, you should experience clarity that you didn’t know existed. It’s slow and subtle because it’s your perception changing, then one day you realize how different you feel and perceive things. Like anything you choose and follow through with, it’s very empowering but only if it comes from within and aligns with your a true desire (vs. something you think you should be doing).

Tom Campbell says it takes 4 hours to get sugar out of your immediate system, yet we eat just about every 4 hours. I don’t know about anyone else, but my brain always functions best in the morning, which is after the longest stretch I go without eating. He also says it takes 3-4 months of absolutely no sugar to get your consciousness working at its optimum.

Anyway, it goes back to the saying you can’t know what you don’t know. You can’t experience a different reality until you actually put yourself in that reality. It starts from inside and moves to outside. You start with the internal change then add action to make the external change happen. I know we all understand this, I guess I’m just reflecting here.

Hi everyone, it’s my birthday and I’ve had such a lovely day just had to tell u. My lovely son, Ryan bought me an iPod and I’m reading the blog on it! I’m even managing to leave a comment with it! How 21st century is that! Just humour me will ya……….I am 47 afterall!

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

47?! You spring chicken, you! Happy birthday, dearest Tracy!!

  • Shannon

M and M is right guys, you get so much more clarity in your thoughts and mental processing when you give up sugar and caffeine. I don’t like coffee but I do love tea so my caffeine consumption isn’t as high as most but sugar…bliss can definitely be found in a pastry!

For anyone who would like to cut back or experience more balance, you need look no further than you non-physical friends. Your Guides and Angels can help you kick or balance any habit or addiction with ease, all you have to do is ask! If you’re worried about withdraw, ask Archangel Rafael and your Guides to help remove the toxins from your body and bring your cells into balance. Change is gradual so you might not realize that you’re drinking less coffee or not craving sweets. You also still have free will…you can derail yourself at will anytime you want.

The funny thing is, if you take just a moment to feel in your body what you want or need before you buy, order or consume something, you will feel a positive or negative response (sometimes it is very subtle). If you feel a negative response and ignore it, you won’t have anything but your stubbornness to blame when you feel like crap later.

Sooooo…..so far we have coffee and tomatoes on the menu?? I can grow strawberries and pineapple! We could build a greenhouse. I’ll bring my hammer!

I wholeheartedly believe in the “avoid sugar” approach. I do not drink soda, I avidly avoid anything I know that contains sugar (cakes, cookies, mixes, sweet drinks) and I minimize any foods with high glycemic indices (that cause your pancreas to produce lots of insulin) like bread, pasta, potatoes, bananas, carrots, SUGAR, fruit juices (eat the FRUIT) and when I can’t avoid eating those things ALWAYS try to consume protein also, ideally low saturated fat protein if you have a choice – along with the high glycemic foods. Proportion is key; about a 3:2 carbohydrate to protein ratio, by weight (e.g. 4 ounces of red meat + 6 ounces of potato) I do like some coffee and tea, but always “black” (no sugar, ice, milk or oil). 1 to 2 cups/day should be the maximum (like wine or beer, 1 or 2, that’s it)

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

Patrick you’re a pillar of strength. I am not worthy!

  • Susan

LOL… ooops I’m holding my much need takeaway flat white coffee as I type this! One a day isn’t so bad (right)!!!!! I do agree with too much sugar and processed food though ;-)

  • Skoshi

This is REALLY valuable information. Thank you Erik and Elisa.

  • Steve

I’m a true believer in pretty much everything in moderation. Coffee actually has good properties, healing properties…but too much caffeine does not. Balancing things out in your life is key. Extreme diets or behaviors will throw you off. Some people can be vegans, others cannot, etc.

  • Nina

Erikkkkk I need my coffee, dude! The processed foods are really bad though. When I spoke with Jamie in a channeling session she said I needed to start taking Vitamin D and Omega 3. I’d heard Elisa mentioning the Omega 3 deficiency before on here…

You guys, really if you want to raise your vibration go hug a tree. I’m so not kidding about this! There is an amazing energy there! I know you might look crazy doing it, but it’s such a beautiful feeling. Stand there hugging it and just feel its beauty. Feel the strength and the wisdom. I could hug a tree all day! It’s the most peaceful feeling I’ve ever felt.

I guess hippies really are tree huggers! lol!
    xoxo-Nina
    p.s. love you Elisa.

OMG. Elisa. I just realized that post posted at 11:11! I swear I’m seeing those numbers EVERYWHERE!

      WOW!!!!!!

  • Stanley

    Hello,

I am right there with you Elisa on the Caffine. I couldn’t operate without it…lol. Though I know I should cut back. I know I do consume more than I should. As for the food, I wish I could eat all healthy. Sadly my food budget for the month is only $90.00-$100.00. So that often means pasta and other cheap and typically fatening and sugery foods. But I do feel that you can raise your vibration in other ways. Trying to reduce the stress in your life. Working to limit negitivity in your life. I just feel vibration is similar to the path to god. I have heard the expression “Many paths lead to god”. And I am inclined to think that the expression works for raising one’s vibration as well. Just my two cents. :)

      LOL Stanley!

Dear CE-ers, I gave up coffee and tea completely about a year ago. I now drink mostly water, which stands on a Purple Plate, to purify it, and fruit juice. I feel better than I have felt for decades, but I pee more! I highly recommend ditching the caffeine, although you will have to go through a bit of withdrawal, but persevere. It’s worth it to think more clearly than ever!

  • Skoshi

I think that means Erik would say you have to forget martinis too, whether delivered by cabana boys or not. LOL.

    • http://drmedhus.com Elisa

      Party pooper!! (wink$

  • Jane

Ha what about quitter socks!? I guess u can love them as dust cloths ;)

From my understanding some people need higher amounts of rice and potatoes etc. to keep their serotonin levels up (one reason some depressed people eat massive amnts of simple sugars, clearly overdoing it.) Every body and brain is different I would think. But that doesn’t mean we can’t cut out sugar and processed foods.

I love the “our thoughts are like commercials thing.” This is much more in line with my understanding than “thoughts are things.” Thoughts have power if we endorse or believe them but we can also dismiss them. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to remind kids w mental illness to remember that when they have thoughts to harm themselves or saying they’re worthless that that’s just the illness talking and though its hard they can wait it out by exercising or sleeping or some other coping skill etc.

One of my saddest experiences was one night on the childrens unit finding a little girl in tears bc she had intrusive thoughts that frequently told her to kill her parents. It was happening that night and she was thinking she was an evil person bc of the thoughts. I reminded her that her thoughts are NOT her, that her true self was a good person who loved her parents. She looked at me and said ” I do love them. I don’t want to kill them!!” and cried some more. It was so sad and people, esp kids, need to know that they are not their thoughts, rather they can choose which thoughts to hold onto and which to dismiss. (Harder to do in mental illness but still an important thing to do as much as one can! Meds and coping skills can sometimes help.)
