Channeling Erik

I’m here at the hospital, taking care of my mom and looking through some photos, some of which I’d like to share. One is of my father who experienced his first ever trip to McDonalds (here at St. Luke’s Hospital). He’s eating an Egg McMuffin and actually loved it! I can’t believe he’s been here for over 60 years without having been to Mickey D’s! In some circles, that’s grounds for deportation back to Spain!

Jahmaiah, All this time the paranoid conspiracy freaks have been telling us “Big Brother” is our government. I think they work for McD’s and they’ve been misleading us all these years!!

Elisa…Erik says he loves that picture of him. I do too. :-) he’s saying his grand dad looked overjoyed for having to pose for a picture. He says you already know this, but it bears repeating that that this is typical of his demeanor with regard to taking pictures when he’s not in the mood for one. heehee…Little Arley looks adorable as usual! He’s picking on Lukas being all dressed up….says he looks good in “pappa’s penguin suit”. He also said he was laughing his a$$ off when you made him get up there and pose…and that when he complained, it wasn’t true complaining…he secretly loved that you were “goin’ all paparazzi on him”…oh, and he says during his grandmas surgery she and him were hanging out. He said she visits off and on anyway, but it was fun to hang out. He says she’s gonna be grumpy during recovery, but it won’t be as bad as last time. :-) love you lots and lots! Erik says “tell her ditto for me!”.

So true, all of it!! Erik loved that picture, my dad has been really upset about my mom’s decline in the last several years, that was Pappa’s penguin suit, and he was complaining!!! How cool! I told my mom that Erik would be there for her (and the rest of us for that matter) when she crosses and they’d have a good ol’ time together! Love you Robert and Erik!!!

Glad that surgery is behind your mother, Elisa. I hope she feels stronger soon. Your parents have lived through a lot of change in their 80+ years. They’ll even find a LOT of McDs in Spain!

  • Steve

OMG – you would never eat those nuggets again if you knew what they were actually made of. Some kind of pink processed chicken “meat”. LOL

So enjoyed the pictures Elisa! Arlee is absolutely adorable! Glad to hear that Erik is spending time with your Mom as well and that she is recovering. The look your Dad is giving in that picture is exactly what my Grandpa and brother do when we try to take a picture of them….haha…too funny!

    Elisa,

I’m so glad your mom came through her surgery well. I’ve been getting updates from Robert. Ah Arleen, what a beautiful little girl! How fun to have a grandchild! Lucas looks very handsome! Erik is truly an angel. It must be such a relief to your dad having your mom make it through surgery well.

    Love you,
    Sherry
