    Hello Elisa and all,

I think you’ll enjoy this video about the fractal nature of consciousness:

    http://youtu.be/w6gGxiFL8qA

I spent some time three years ago trying to understand fractals and its relationship to consciousness. I got a grasp of the idea but I can’t explain it to somebody else. Back then fractals made me remember how much I loved looking through a kaleidoscope my father gave me when I was a child. They still remind me of the beautiful changing patterns and colours of my childhood’s kaleidoscope. I imagine dying might be like going on a trip to the inside (centre) of a kaleidoscopic world. You know, light, incredible colours, ever changing patterns all encompassed in unconditional love and at the far end, right at the centre of it all, THE SOURCE.
I’ve learned from NDErs that the love that emanates from the source or God if you prefer it is so much that sometimes it can be almost unbearable. They speak of a feeling of pure bliss unknown on earth. Also, the source knows you personally, calls you by your name and loves you for what you are. You’re not judged by the source. It just shows you the life you left behind and points out some aspects you should focus on to learn whatever you’re supposed to learn. Many NDERs have mentioned the source has a sense of humour.

    The Rishis’ Observation
posted by Deepak Chopra Apr 28, 2011 5:00 am

The ability of the rishis to enter the fourth state at will and observe what is there, is not “thinking” as we use the term–the whole phenomenon is an immediate experience, like recognizing the fragrance of lilacs or the sound of a friend’s voice. It is immediate, nonverbal, and, unlike a flower’s fragrance, totally transforming.

Rather than seeing time, space, matter, and energy “out there,” the rishis observed that reality begins “in here,” with our conscious awareness. At any particular time, they reasoned, a person must be in one of three states of subjective awareness–waking, sleeping, or dreaming. What he perceives in these states constitutes his reality.

The ancients assumed that reality was thus different in different states of consciousness–a tiger in the dream state is not a tiger in the waking state. It obeys entirely different laws, and similarly, the laws of the sleep state, although not known to the conscious mind, must be distinct from those of the waking and dreaming states.

The rishis looked closer and detected between each of these states a gap that acts like a pivot as one reality turns into another. For example, just before falling asleep, the mind gradually leaves the waking state, withdrawing the senses, shutting out the waking world, but at the junction point before the mind actually falls asleep, a brief gap is opened, identical to the one that flashes by between each thought: it is like a little window into the field that is beyond either wakefulness or sleep. This realization opened the possibility for leaving behind the usual boundaries of the five senses by diving through the gap.

Adapted from Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine, by Deepak Chopra (Bantam Books, 1990).

Think I’m finally getting my head around it all, Patrick? The problem is, how do we change the thought patterns of the majority who are frightened and, therefore, willing to be led?
How do you make them realize that their destiny is in their own hands?
When you practice living in the ‘now’, you can affect your own, immediate reality. I know because I practiced doing it a lot when I lost Adam. It helped to not be worrying about yesterday and tomorrow and to just take pleasure in what I was doing ‘right now’. On two occasions, I focussed on something that I needed, continually telling myself I had these things and, eventually, they both came to me. Everyone is capable of doing this, unfortunately, most of us are willing to let our lives be governed and ultimately designed and led, by the few.

From what I have studied and feel, the idea is not to change the thought patterns of others (wouldn’t this be like the illuminati or negative forces controlling the masses anyway?!)the only thing to do is to change your own thoughts and know inside that god/the universe has a divine plan and that everything, including all those who believe that their destiny is outside of themselves, is perfection. Then the need to change or do anything to others is replaced by compassion and understanding for them and their journeys, all of which are of equal value. I too felt the need to run about and inform everyone of the reality of life, but many are not ready to hear and that would just be my ego trying to control others anyway!

Yes, Vic, and by sharing love and kindness, offering information to those who want to know–but I have trouble figuring out how to reach those who aren’t so open–kind of like how I was before Erik’s death. Hate to think it takes another death to open each and every set of eyes.

Tracy – minds are changed with love, goodwill, positive intent and follow through! It’s so simple, it’s painful to look out at the world and observe so many people doing the opposite and complaining about the effect.
