Channeling Erik

Since Erik has recently graduated to a new plane of existence, I’d like to take the opportunity to share a wonderful book written by a very gifted writer, blog member, Laurie Brenner. It’s a metaphysical fiction, a genre I actually never knew existed, entitled, Changing Planes.

Not only is it a great page-turner, it also encapsulates so much of what we’ve all shared on the blog. The ending has several mind-blowing surprises, so don’t peek ahead.

Here are the links to the book:

Thank you for all the enormously valuable book recommendations, I just put this one in my Amazon cart.

I have a question I have not really seen addressed here. I had a brother who was born with Down’s syndrome. He was very severely affected, mentally and physically, and my parents followed their doctor’s advice (this was the late 50s) and had him placed in a private clinic, where they visited him on weekends. He passed away shortly after his 13th birthday when I was 10.

My question is, how do I communicate with him? He was barely verbal, and I don’t think he knew who I was. I just realized I have never even seen a picture of him.

Do souls who are born with such large handicaps, and who never had a real family life, have a connection to us? I have felt recently that I need to communicate with him and apologize for all that happened.

I’m sorry to even bring this up, Elise, knowing that you have so much more important things ahead of you. Please don’t take up your time, but maybe another reader can help ease my mind.

Thank you and love to all

What a wonderful question, Rania! My feeling is that they are perfectly fine in the afterlife and totally without disabilities. Those impairments are taken on to teach, to learn or both. I’ll put that one on the list of questions for the book! Thanks, darling.

Feeling a bit “geeky” today, and thought I’d offer a different way of sharing those multi-line links with others (as sometimes they don’t work)…

    Go here:
    http://tinyurl.com/

Paste the really long urls in the box and they will give you a short version that you can pass along to people whose machines have trouble with the long versions…

    Just an idea… :)

Oh, I love that. Those long urls always look so untidy too. Thanks, Ceridwen. “And the geeks will inherit the Earth!”

Rania, I have been taught and I believe that any and all mentally handicapped people not only chose to have the condition they have while on this earth, in order to teach first and foremost and learn, like Elisa mentioned, but also because they are such special spirits that their handicap is a form of protection. Our spirits are always perfect even if integrated with an imperfect body. So I say talk to your brother, he is listening and will understand. :)

Thank you Elisa and Laurie. I have friends who won’t read “spiritual” literature but who love science fiction, so these books will make great gifts. Hopefully it will stir up a lot of questions in their minds. : D

From what I’ve read, the soul is not handicapped, just the body – so anyone who has transitioned to spirit who was once mentally or physically challenged here would be completely well/heatlhy there.

    Dear Elisa,
In regard to Rania’s question, I have to agree with Tiffany. Since losing my son, Adam in 2007, I have read many spiritual books in order to educate myself about the afterlife, where my son now resides. I am currently reading ‘Your Soul’s Plan’ by Robert Schwartz. When you lose a loved-one you question every aspect of your once-normal life. ‘Why did this happen to me?’ ‘What did I do that was so bad?’ This book simply points out that we all – as a soul group – sat with each other before birth and planned our life expereinces. I, for example, would have sat with Adam and we would have agreed that he would go and I would learn and grow from the pain it gave me to lose him. Elisa, you are also having this same lesson. In fact, but for the loss of your precious son, this fabulous website would not be in existance! Maybe you and Erik decided before birth that you would both help to ‘promote’ the afterlife and help so many other people in the same situation.
As for Rania’s brother, I think he is a very special soul who chose his disability as a huge learning experience. Upon returning to the afterlife, he would shed all disability and resume his status as a wise soul -(as we all are!) She can rest assured that he knows her and guides her through life.
Love and blessings to all, Tracy xx
P.S. My way of dealing with my grief is to write poems. If you would like to read any of them just google Tracy Lamont poems. They seem to be showing up all over the place, which is great if that helps other people in my situation.

    Good Morning Elisa,

For your book, and for some peace of mind for myself and I’m sure for many others, when you get a chance can you ask Erik about vaccines? Especially the flu vaccines. Here is a link to a doctor who talks about the dangers of flu vaccines and vaccines in general, the conspiracy of the government, pharmaceutical companies, etc to keep people sick so that money is always flowing that direction. As a physician this is very difficult to hear. Please listen to these when you get a chance and if you feel you would like to ask Erik, that would be great!

I’ve often wondered about that myself and my children are only vaccinated in the basics: not Hep B, HPV, etc. I think it may be linked to Juvenile DM and other autoimmune diseases. I also want to ask if certain diseases like autoimmunity, allergies, etc. are a sign that someone is more comfortable in the spirit realm than on the earthly plane.

  • Epeavey

I am the same way. My kids only get the basics. I’ve had to sign waivers for rotavirus, chickenpox vaccines, Hep A, etc. And every time (not that I really care) but the school and/or doctor’s office looks at me as if I am bringing harm to my children. Last year when I refused to vaccinate myself and children for the H1N1, it was not pretty. I feel that for some children, it can lead to autism, various allergies, autoimmune diseases, behavioral issues, etc. And the fact that parts of the government might know about and be helping this….just blows my mind. Anyone else have any ideas, thoughts, etc?

  • Skoshi

I’ve had every vaccine I can get, because with my heart defects, one lung, asthma, and drug allergies, I’m afraid of getting something I can’t overcome and not being able to take anything to help. I’ve had the pneumonia shot, the shingles shot, keep up on tetnus, and every year get a flu shot (2 last year of course). I’ve read research that people who get a yearly flu shot are much more likely than average to get dementia. : (

In my career, I deal with swine flu, H1N1, MRSA, and continuity of services in the event of a massive outbreak of H1N1.

I can remember parks and pools being closed in the summer because of polio outbreaks, and that sure makes vaccines sound preferable. I read (again I think it was one of Delores Cannon’s books), that because of an error there was a flaw in human development while we were evolving, and we weren’t supposed to be as susceptible to germs as we are. I sure with “they” would have gotten it right!

Epeavey…none of the scientific studies done to date can support that vaccines cause autism. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t contribute in some way to these conditions.

I personally believe that some children are more vulnerable to attacks on their immune system especially when there are so many vaccines given in such a short period of time at such a young age. This is the problem I have with vaccines.

I also believe that with the over 85,000 different inorganic chemicals that have been poured into our environment that there has to be some effect on the human body which I strongly feel has contributed to the increase in autoimmune diseases.

Again, the most young and certainly those that are still in the developmental stage are the most vulnerable. This is a very critical time for all the vital systems in their development, especially the brain and immune system.

One thing I certainly don’t trust is the profit motive of big Pharma and the agenda of big politics. Neither one are about what is right for people and the most vulnerable are the first to suffer.

My thoughts on this subject are that you have to be judicious in your decisions. If the disease is occurring more frequently in your area such as whopping cough is in our area, then you may want to get your child vaccinated for that…do some research. If your child is compromised, you may want to get your child vaccinated such as for the flu. Or if the disease is “deadly” and not just a nuisance to deal with if the child gets it, then get the child vaccinated. This is just my opinion based on all that I have read.

But above all do your research and be an informed consumer. I believe that is paramount for anything associated with health today.
