Channeling Erik

Got some good news and some bad news today. Let’s share the good news first. I’m proud to announce that my daughter’s blog, Pretty Shiny Sparkly, has won the nomination in two of the categories for the 2012 Bloggies: The Best Designed Blog and The Best Fashion Blog. My hat would go off to her loyal following if I were wearing one. Now for the bad news. Channeling Erik did not get nominated in any category. It was a difficult process to be sure , and takes great effort to come up with two extra blogs for each category, so I can understand why many  of you didn’t vote. The link click count to to the 2012 Bloggies from Channeling Erik wasn’t all that high.

But never mind. I will dry my tears, celebrate Kristina’s success and continue to be a voice for Erik! Thanks to those of you who did vote for me. It was a cumbersome process, and I do appreciate the effort you went through. I just don’t feel like writing today. Hope you don’t mind if I take a mental health holiday.

Congratulations Kristina!!!

Sorry about the loss, but–just to let you know–when I voted for you, the link didn’t work, so I had to go through Google to search for “Bloggies 2012.” There might have been more Channeling Erik peeps who voted that had to do the same as I did, and wouldn’t be processed as a link click.

    Hope your day gets better!

I voted for you :) I bet you’ll win next year! Don’t be sad!
Take a break, you deserve it!

Aw I love you mom! For the record I clicked through your link from the sidebar graphic and it worked just fine. Maybe it was within a blog post that a link didn’t work? Better luck next year, and know this: I tried for 3 years to get nominated, each year without success. Persistence is key–and trust me, it doesn’t mean anything if you didn’t get nominated this year. It’s just the first time! Love you so much.

  • Vicki

I voted for CE! I am so sad to hear it didn’t get nominated. Lots of love and hugs to you, Elisa. <3

  • Tracy Lamont

The link worked fine. Just know that we, your CE family all voted for you and continue to be committed to you and this worthy cause.
If you didn’t win this year it was for a reason. Everything happens just how it should. Don’t be too disappointed. Erik has a plan. . . .That books gonna be a bestseller!

  • Alice

you’ll be nominated next year. These things take time. What matters is the people you’re helping now. Best of luck to you.

  • Irina

Don’t be disappointed or sad Elisa! You have helped so many people and each of us is so grateful for the work and love you put in this blog.
I voted but it took a second try for it to go through.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful work that you do. You make my day everyday!

I know how cumbersome it is to vote in that site! At least we got nominated last year. I hope everyone votes for Kristina’s http://www.prettyshinysparkly.com. It’s much easier to vote for the finalist! Just resting today.

  • mike m

Total ditto what M and M said – couldn’t have said it better!

  • Melanie

I am so glad to hear your daughter was nominated. At least one of the ones I voted for was nominated. I did have to go and look up another blog so I could use three but I just picked one since I really only read yours. We will do it next year!!!!

The work you are doing here is plenty, never mind about some blogging award.

    • http://www.channelingerik.com Elisa Medhus, MD

Well, that’s how we got the TV producer’s attention!

  • Shelly

I voted too!! Remember, sometimes things have a way of working out better than you ever imagined:) Perhaps another way or time…

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo I voted for both of those :( ( I should’ve snuck on my school’s computers and sneak in more. Those people have bad taste in blogs! I’m going to go throw tomatoes at those judges or water balloons with paint in them, whatever would be more fun.

Never mind, we all know that this is the best blog around :-) Susanxoxo

My votes went through as far as I could tell. Congrats to your daughter Elisa xo

  • divya

its sad that so many people visit your site yet they can’t put some little effort to vote …
Ma’am there are very few people who can do as much as you are doing and am sure you will get the rewards for it sooner or later.
For me… the 2012 best blog has already gone to channelingerik.com

      I second that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.channelingerik.com Elisa Medhus, MD

Oh I think they did the best they could really. It’s a terrible site to navigate and often the verification email went to spam, so sometimes it’s just impossible. I don’t fault my babies. And remember, everything happens for a reason. The universe is perfect and love is unconditional.

    • Kellyamber76

Yes, I too voted at least 5 times and I coudn’t get them to go through, I was hopeful on the last try but maybe it didn’t work. I thought maybe it was just me but reading others posting on it makes me realize maybe I am not the idiot voter I dubbed myself to be after so many attempts!! If that helps any?? I am sure there were many more like myself…I thank you greatly for all your hard work.

    It was horrible, wasn’t it!

  • http://www.channelingerik.com Elisa Medhus, MD

    Great idea!

  • Amber

Call me a weirdo if you like..I don’t dig awards, medals, certificates, etc. Your credits are so numerous from your bloggers. Your heart-work is credited in the invisible world as well. You’re a credit to society, here, and up there with your son. WOW!!!

  • amy cavanaugh

I voted-I am sure of it and I am sorry that technology messed it up. I am sort of annoyed because it was a huge ordeal to come up with other blogs but I did. We rely on technology far too much-I got shut out of the call yesterday for the same reason. I went back and checked all my emails and account-but you know everything happens for a reason. I hate when things that dont really matter can ruin our day-I feel your pain!!!!
